The Honeymoon story
Hi!
What can I say about Greece? White houses with blue shutters, old man Stavros sitting in front of his taverna, stray cats lazing in the sun, cake in the morning with breakfast, Ouzo with supper, warm calm waters, bright red sunsets, rows and rows of olive groves with zorba the greek playing in the background while we drove around the island about 20 times!
It was an wonderful experience and I am still nostalgic about our little island - Milos. Milos is an special island in the Aegean sea close to Santorini. It is the birthplace of Venus the Milos and has the most beautiful beaches. The one side of island, called Kleftiko can only be reached by boat. The local people were friendly and even knew a little bit of Afrikaans! We visited Athens as well, and saw the magnificent Akropolis and Zeus's temple. We strolled through Plaka - a bustling area close to the Akropolis through the various little shops and had souvlaki with raki at one of the many tavernas!
We ended our holiday off with 8 hours in Egypt. What a country! We thought we wouldn't come out there alive. The taxidriver was driving like an maniac and the next thing we knew we were on camelback heading towards the mysterious Pyramids of Giza. We met Ali there, our tourguide and he told us the history of the pyramids. After trying to bribe me to trade my sister in for 3 camels for him as an second wife and a trip to the Papyrus museum we arrived safely back to the airport with a hole in our pocket.
All ended well, and we feel fortunate to have had such a wonderful experience!
We would like to go back there one day, and would recommend it to anyone!
With love,
The couple

I do...I Do...I DOOOOO!
Wasn't Ilse's entrance so graceful?
I need you all to tell me. I was facing away as she came down the red carpet, forcing that final bit of self control which didn't last too long, because the moment I turned to receive my bride I was overwhelmed by uncontrollable happiness and joy. All those last bits of nervous doubt and expectation just vaporized as I saw her standing next to me. No word can describe the emotions I felt, or should I say that I could not put a word to the emotions I felt at the time, because I was not aware those feelings even existed.
THE WEDDING - 1 MAY 2010 (Part 1 : The preparations)
The day has come and gone, but the memories will remain forever. However, the memories were not created out of thin air, but rather composed as an ensemble of good friends and family, good food, good music and lots of wine - a marvelous piece de resistance to David and Ilse.
The day went of extremely smoothly. Pre-wedding at Aan de Doorns Guest House - the girly pad - Ilse was being prepped by her sorceresses Luzia, Melissa, Delores and Annelise, who worked their magic magic on her, turning Ilse into the most amazingly beautiful bride. The tricks and spells hey used on Ilse were strong and powerful. They even out did the infamous Fairy God-mother, because when the clock struck twelve, Ilse was and is still as beautiful as ever.
At the same time, not so far away at Leipzig Country House there was there was much excitement. The final preparations were being made for the ceremony. Elizma's team was preparing the venue, Tannie Suzette and her flower team were decorating and Leonora and her caters were cooking up a culinary extravaganza and making every in close proximity to the kitchen drool. Enter Dopey (Ike), Grumpy (Ricky), Doc (Lisa), Bashful (Augs), Sleezy (Garry), Sleepy (Dwight) and Happy (George) each with a unique set of skills which they used in overseeing all the final touches at Leipzig prior to the wedding, Oh, and for being there so that I could delegate. Thanks Guys and girl for the time before, during and after that you put into making Ilse and my day flawless.

How the invitations came about...
Hello all!
7 weeks to the big day. WOW! I'm getting really anxious!
Here is a little story about how our invitations came about.
A few years back, David was on holiday alone in Paris and had a silhouette of his head cut out of cardboard by an artist in Montmarte. Long forgotten, we happened to come across it between some books on our bookshelf. Good memories were brought up and the idea of having silhouettes of each of us, to use in our wedding somewhere, came up. So on our past Christmas holiday in Paris, we made our way in the -3 degree rainy, snowy weather to the top of the hill in Montmarte to find the artist who cut David's silhouette 2 years before. We did not find the same old man however, but there were many others. So after a 20 hour plane trip, 8 hour train ride and a steep climb up the hill with the infamous Sacré-Cœur Basilica looming over us, it took the artist all of 2 minutes to cut our profiles (see pic) - but it was all worth it!
Parisian romance was all around. We happened upon a little shop (it was really one of hundreds of tourist shop scattered all over Paris) in Paris where we saw these black and white vintage postcards, all depicting various romance scenes in Paris. The mood took us and we change our entire idea of what the wedding theme was going to be and we bought a range of these postcards. Done deal! With a bit of creativity they were made into the invitations that you've all received.
Bisoux xxx
